2nd practitioners networking day

Last month, Vanderlande and Tarlunt organized a second practitioners networking day for cost and value engineers from the Benelux. The main theme was: what’s the future of cost and value engineering? Seventeen participants from various manufacturing companies exchanged insights, shared best practices and exchanged personal experiences. This successful event was kindly hosted by Huub Ehlhardt at Vanderlande’s HQ in Veghel, NL. Earlier this year, the value and cost engineering practitioners business network started as an initiative of Barco and Tarlunt. This network brings together value & cost engineering professionals from Belgium and the Netherlands in a platform for professional development. In order to grow into a network in which VE/CE professionals in manufacturing can exchange insights and experiences from their business practice. The first network meeting was held in Kortrijk, Belgium on 28 March 2018, kindly hosted by Barco. Due to the enthusiastic responses we decided to organize a second meeting.

The Future of Cost and Value Engineering

During the practitioners day a collaborative workcase on the future of Cost and Value Engineering revealed capabilities, personality, systems & processes and organization embedding of future Cost and Value Engineers. During his presentation, Huub Ehlhardt made an appeal to synchronize future training programs of practitioners in our area of operations in Eindhoven Brainport as leverage for the future of our profession.
