The Challenge

The challenge was to design an optimized infant carrier that had a decreased weight, was easier to carry for parents, and to make it have a distinctive look. Another main requirement of a child carrier is high safety, so the new design should keep the high safety standards that the previous design already had.

The Solution

Tarlunt organized a Value Discovery workship within Dorel Juvenile. As part of the ideation phase, brainstorming with the team resulted in more than 150 ideas for the new SJEF infant carrier. 4 teams have assesed, clustered, and translated these ideas into 52 themes that were captured in concrete improvement proposals.

The marketing brief was discussed, evaluated and agreed upon with the team. Priorities for a child carrier were safety, ergonomics for the parents, and a new, futureproof, signature look. This resulted in a new generation of Maxi Cosi infant carrier.
